Real Colored Pencil Technique
Introduction:
You've seen the Colored Pencil filter before. I think we both agree it hardly looks like what a real colored pencil drawing looks like. At least not a good colored pencil drawing. In this tutorial, we'll learn to convert a photograph so that it looks like a real colored pencil drawing. The type that a professional artist would create.
Step-By-Step:
1. Open the photograph in Photoshop.

2. Goto Layer > Duplicate Layer. Click OK to create the new duplicate layer of the photograph.

3. Goto Image > Adjustments > Invert.

4. Choose "Color Dodge" from the Layer Styles dropdown box in the Layers Palette.

5. Goto Filter > Blur > Gausian Blur...
6. Adjust the Radius slider to get the best looking pencil shade.

7. Click OK and you should now have your realistic colored pencil effect.
