Get Rid of Farmer's Tan
Introduction:
In this tutorial, we'll learn to take a photo where a person has an obvious difference in tan line and blend it so it is not as noticeable. This is great for photos where everything looks great except for the tan lines. You can use this tutorial to easily fix this issue.
Step-By-Step:
1. Open the photograph in Photoshop.

2. Click the "Edit in Quick Mask Mode" button.
3. Choose black as your foreground color and select the brush tool.
4. Choose an appropriate brush size and begin painting the area that is not tan.

5. When you are done, the entire area should be transparent red.

6. Click the "Edit in Standard Mode" button.
7. Goto Select > Inverse. The pale or non-tan area should now be selected.
8. Goto Image > Adjustments > Color Balance.
9. Deselect the "Preserve Luminosity" checkbox. Spend some time adjusting the Color Sliders for Shadows and Midtones until the skin matches the tan area as much as possible. Click OK when you are done.

10. Goto Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast.
11. Adjust the sliders to get the proper darkness level to match the tanned skin. Click OK when you are done.

12. Goto Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation.
13. Adjust the Saturation slider to get the proper saturation level for the skin so that it matches the tanned skin better. Click OK when you are done.

14. Click Ctrl+D to deselect the selected area.
15. Select the Clone Stamp tool. Set the Flow percentage to 50%. Then begin clone stamp clicking over the obvious line between the two skin tones to blend them.

16. When you are done, you should have a less obvious tan line. No more farmers tan! :)
